Ka tae mai a Kuīni Erihāpeti II ki Tūrangawaewae Marae i te tau 1952-53.  Ko te tikanga ia me poto, me toru mēneti noa iho te toro mai, ēngari.  He toronga nā te kōtuku rerenga tahi.  Nō te tono a Kuini Erihāpeti ka ārahina rāua ko Pirinihi Piripi ki roto o Mahinaarangi e Piki, nō muri mai ko Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu, te kuīni Māori tuatahi.
