Tony Veitch makes a media statement

In 2008–9 the information that popular sports broadcaster Tony Veitch had seriously assaulted his former partner became widely known. Forced to resign from his radio and television programmes, he was also convicted of assault and injuring with reckless disregard. The publicity given to this case was a sign of changing social attitudes. It contrasted with the secrecy that had often surrounded domestic violence allegations against prominent people.
