Story: Domestic violence

Tony Veitch makes a media statement

In 2008–9 the information that popular sports broadcaster Tony Veitch had seriously assaulted his former partner became widely known. The publicity given to this case was a sign of changing social attitudes. It contrasted with the secrecy that had often surrounded domestic violence allegations against prominent people.
