Voluntary work

Some older people do a lot of organised and self-motivated voluntary work if they are retired and have the time. Auckland man John Blundell, aged 89, is pictured here driving on his mobility scooter picking up rubbish at Kawakawa Bay in 2007. Mr Blundell was commended for his work at the 2007 Auckland Regional Council sustainable environment awards.
