Hoani Wiremu Hipango is the father of Hori Kingi Hipango who died in England in 1871 at the age of 19 and is buried in St Andrew's churchyard, Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire. A memorial obelisk to commemorate his life stands at the entrance to the churchyard.
