Cattle deficient in copper can be treated by dosing with a copper ‘bullet’, which stays in the rumen and slowly dissolves. Here, Lisa Hire of Kaikōura administers a copper bullet, watched by Taihape vet Phyllis Leigh, at an animal health day organised by the Waiau Women in Farming group.
