Māori place names of the Coromandel peninsula

Two of the place names depicted connect the demigod Māui and navigator Kupe to the Coromandel Peninsula. Many others embody the association of Te Arawa ancestors Tamatekapua and Kahumatamomoe with the peninsula. Others are more purely descriptive.
