Mark Davies, Sonja and Charlie’s only child, was born in 1957. He was accidentally killed in 1978 at the age of 20, when working on the Tūrangi tunnel, part of a hydroelectric power scheme in the central North Island.

I went to Wellington High School and there enjoyed many a discussion with Mark Davies.
He was a visionary like his mother. He was always expressing a positive view
about New Zealand society and insiht to see our Kiwi Society to be a caring place to live.
