Soldiers of the Māori Battalion

The tribes of Tūranganui-a-Kiwa provided men for the 28th New Zealand Battalion (better known as the Māori Battalion) during the Second World War. Men of the battalion are pictured here at a transit camp in Egypt in 1941.
