Te Moananui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu's parents, Maraea (left) and Hamuera (centre), accepted his posthumous Victoria Cross at a special hui in 1943. Also present was his aunt, Materoa Reedy (right), who made the principal speech of welcome.

My name is Moana-Nui-A-Kiwa-Ngarimu Harrison, I and the name sake of this wonderful man and I'm very proud of it. I am the grandson of Ngawiki Harrison (Reedy) and the son of Tumoe Tuhua Harrison.
